Geography
Iowa City is located in eastern Iowa, along the Iowa River, on Interstate 80, about 60 miles west of the Quad Cities (Davenport and Bettendorf, Iowa, and Moline and Rock Island, Illinois). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 25.28 square miles (65.47 km²), of which, 25.01 square miles (64.78 km²) is land and 0.27 square miles (0.70 km²) is water.
